How to make realistic Fx scars?

I am going to give a character some old scars for this student film im working on, I want the scars to be realistic, and pucker the skin around them a little, liquid latex has not done this for me.

any tips?

Thanks a lot|||Well, here%26#039;s the at-home method:

This is all done using glue, which may irritate the skin. Be sure that whoever you are applying the scars to is alright with this. Begin by applying a thin layer of ordinary Elmer%26#039;s glue slightly bigger than the area, slightly stretching the skin beneath as you do this. Once this is dry, apply rubber cement in the shape you want your scar to be, and also allow that to dry. Cover the whole area with a concealer that matches the person%26#039;s skin, and add a bit of darker eyeshadow on top.

Good luck, and I hope this is helpful!
