Why do people say tanning will fade scars?

Wouldn%26#039;t that make them darker and worse?|||Since the skin is damaged it does not change color like your normal, healthy skin. Generally tanning doesn%26#039;t %26quot;fade%26quot; scarring but sometimes it will make your skin tone darken to a similar shade to your scar, giving the illusion that the scar is fainter. Honestly, you%26#039;re probably doing more damage to your healthy skin by trying to tan away skin that, in all likelihood, your just gonna have to live with. Not saying don%26#039;t tan, I just wouldn%26#039;t recommend it if it%26#039;s only to %26quot;fade%26quot; your scars. Once your scar has faded naturally, there%26#039;s really no way to fade it %26quot;more%26quot;.|||Tanning doesn%26#039;t fade scars, the scar is still there but because tanning causes the pigment of your skin to become darker, it just seems like your scar is gone but its the skin around it just matches it.
