How to get rid of scars?

i have some pretty bad scars on my arm from cutting. i have 5 scars that are now abraised and quite big from needing stitches. the are really red and lumpy and so embarassing. i really want them to go away. any way i can get rid of them. i heard bio oil doesnt get rid of the abraised and lumpy scars.

please help.

|||scars are the result of damaged skin tissue. there is no way of getting rid of the completely. you may go see a dermatologist to have them give you multiple lasar treatments to fade them a bit, but there are no creams out there that will take them away. this was all your fault from doing something so dumb, now you have a reminder everyday and hope that will be good enough for you not to continue cutting yourself.|||Over many years there have been as many claims made about various creams and techniques for doing this. Onion extract cream (Mederma), for example, is said to help reduce raised or keloid scars.

I cannot personally vouch for its effectiveness or safety and would not recommend you to use it or any similar products, or techniques such as laser resurfacing, without first receiving the advice of a medically-qualified dermatologist. Have a chat with your GP and obtain a referral for objective specialist advice.

|||Answer - You will never totally get rid of scars. Application of lots of cream such as aqueous, E 45, or cocoa butter can reduce the scars. A wound needs to be moist in order to heal properly, so keeping the area moist may reduce the scars slightly. Treatments such as laser surgery have also been proved to be quite effective, but I wouldn%26#039;t get my hopes up. Good luck x|||Bio oil works wonders.. The lumping you have to massage (which will not always work) away is is built up collagen and scar tissue under the skin..|||scars make you who you are but if you really want to get rid of scars use cocoa butter.|||coconut creme is good for it, but maybe you should use a moisturizer creme, plz give this a thumbs up|||i wish i knew... makeup?
